(Photos) Did Fabolous’ “So NY” Song Create Issues With Him & Lil Wayne?

Fabolous’ song “So NY” went hard for the Brooklyn rapper’s hometown, but it came at the expense of some others. Name checking people like Diddy and 50 Cent for being both hardly home and hardly repping, he seemed to go the hardest at Lil Wayne for his recent disparaging comments about the Big Apple. Not only did Fab sample some of the audio from Wayne’s interview with MTV where he “flat out” said he didn’t like New York, he also used the reference in a hook, stating multiple times, “I’m so NY, Weezy prolly don’t like me.” When asked about the track a while after it had been out, Wayne said he knew nothing of it because he hadn’t heard it. Obviously, though, he’d been notified just by being asked the question. So, did he then go out and hear the song and feel a way about past-collaborator, Fab? Find out in the gallery! Marisa Mendez

Lil Wayne Hasn’t Heard Fabolous’ “So NY” Song

Fabolous decided he wanted to claim the NY throne for his own, so a couple weeks back, he dropped a new song taking aim at anyone from NY that isn’t repping properly….as well as those that have said they don’t like his lovely city. “I’m so NY, Weezy probably don’t like me,” he raps over and over, a reference to Wayne’s infamous MTV interview where he expressed his disdain for the city stemming from his various legal troubles there. Last night, MTV once again caught up with the Young Money CEO while in Las Vegas, and of course they had to ask him his thoughts on the track. His response? Watch below. Marisa Mendez

“Beez In The Trap” Producer Kenoe Accuses Just Blaze Of Jacking Fab’s “So NY” Beat; Just Blaze Responds

Fabolous recently made a splash putting NY on his back with his new record “So NY,” produced by the one and only Just Blaze. Or was it? Kenoe, an up-and-coming producer whose current claim to fame is Nicki Minaj’s street banger “Beez In The Trap” with 2 Chainz, is crying foul, claiming the vet actually jacked the entire beat after Kenoe wouldn’t clear the record for Fab. Kenoe has obvious ties to the YMCMB camp now, and didn’t want to cause any rifts with Lil Wayne over the opening line, “I’m so NY, Weezy probably don’t like me.” Below, Kenoe tells Hip-Hip Wired the story of what happened, and Just issues a response.
