Not only did HOV himself grace the stage of Jermaine Dupri’s So So Def Anniversary Concert, others did as well. Some of these artists included Usher, Luda, and Lil Jon. Usher took the stage and sang a bunch of his songs like “You Make Me Wanna”, and then Usher, Luda, And Lil Jon all performed “Yeah”, “Lovers and Friends” and more. Da Brat Talks About Her Time At So So Def
Without So So Def, Da Brat would not have been able to accomplish what she has in her career. Although you wouldn’t know by her lack of presence music right now, Brat was everywhere at one point in time and even became the first solo female rapper to go platinum. In honor of their 20th anniversary, Jermaine Dupri invited some of the So So Def family to a private dinner in Atlanta. On hand were Da Brat, Bow Wow, Kris Kross’ Chris Kelly, Bonecrusher, Youngbloodz, Dem Franchize Boyz, Jagged Edge, Xscape’s LaTocha and Tamika Scott, Fresco Kane, as well as JD’s father. The dinner brought artists that haven’t seen each other in years together. The dinner party was also the first time that Bow Wow has met a member of Kris Kross and as Jermaine said, “Bow Wow is a product of Kris Kross.” Check out pics from the dinner in the gallery.

Say what you want about Jermaine Dupri and some of the previous So So Def roster, but at one point So So Def had the game on lock! Jermaine put together a dope line-up that were all over radio and elsewhere. Also, there’s no denying to So So Def remixes were great. Jermaine announced that he’s putting together a 20th anniversary concert for So So Def and told Hot 97’s Angie Martinez that a compilation album is also on the way! The So So Def honcho also said that not many of his artists have met each other since there’s a large year gap between them and he never forced them to work together as a group. I say HOT damn! I wish I could attend. It’s been 20 years since Jermaine Dupri created an iconic stamp on the game with So So Def Recordings. He is celebrating in a BIG way. Every So So Def artist will be in attendance at the concert that will be happening February 23rd at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta. When I say everyone, I mean everyone. Da Brat, Bone Crusher, Bow Wow, Jagged Edge, Dem Franchise Boyz, Xscape, and even…WAIT…WAIT…Kriss Kross. They still play “Jump” on the radio to this day! I need JD to give #ME a personal invite. Mayor Kasim Reed of Atlanta allowed this cat to do a press release on the BIG event. There were alot of artists who showed up for the annoucement. Classic.
