St. Louis’ very own, Nelly, gathered a host of A-list stars to help with a “Hands Up” demonstration in L.A. to pay homage to the suburb of his home town; Ferguson. As you (should) know, the Department of Justice is looking into the death of 18-year-old Mike Brown as a possible violation of Civil Rights. (Video) OK!! Wiz Khalifa Pays Tribute To Mike Brown During Performance!
In his recent interview with DJ Whoo Kid, Wiz Khalifa made it very clear that he does things with today’s youth in mind. Whether it be crafting music for our future leaders or standing with them in protest. Now, obviously, given his stature, it’d be almost impossible for Wiz — who is set to release his fifth studio album, Blacc Hollywood, on Aug. 19th — to physically march in Ferguson, Missouri during his tour stop in St. Louis. Instead, while performing, Khalifa opted to wear a white tee with “Don’t Shoot” on the front, and “#RIPMIKEBROWN” on the back, paying homage to the late teen slain by Ferguson police. Take yourself back to the day you first sat down and watched, Do The Right Thing. Remember how the police did Radio Raheem? Remember how the people in the city reacted? Imagine that same thing happening in 2014. Teen Michael Brown was only a couple days shy of beginning his college education when he went to St. Louis, MO from Ferguson, MO to visit his grandmother only to never return home nor go off to school. Depending on who is reciting the story, you will get multiple scenarios, but one guy seems to make his statement pretty clear after uploading his reaction on YouTube. “Bruh, don’t shoot me. Don’t shoot me,” the witness says that Mike yelled after the police officer pulled a gun on him, but to no avail. The cop shot Mike about eight times. Check out this and more down bottom.
