(Video) Ice Cube Reacts To ‘Straight Outta Compton’ Golden Globes Snub

As award season approaches, the nominees for the Golden Globes were announced yesterday. Quite surprisingly, Straight Outta Compton didn’t get a single nod, despite breaking records worldwide and being a box office smash. They’ve been nominated this week for the SAG Awards as well as the NAACAP Image Awards, however, and the best (the Oscars) is still yet to come. That being said, Ice Cube isn’t sweating it.

“Straight Outta Compton” Unrated Director’s Cut Is On The Way

Mark your calendars: The unrated Director’s Cut for the smash hit Straight Outta Compton is on the way. Hit the jump for the release date and special features that will be included on the DVD and Blu-Ray versions of the film.

Congrats! ‘Straight Outta Compton’ Is Now The Highest Grossed Movie By A Black Director

It looks like the NWA biopic Straight Outta Compton has been breaking all types of records since it hit the theaters over the summer! The movie based on the legendary rap group from South Central, L.A. has now become the highest grossed movie by an African-American director in FILM HISTORY. The movie recently surpassed the $160.1 million dollar mark since it has been in theaters. I’m sure the director F. Gary Gray is more than happy with what he was able to accomplish with the successful biopic. This has definitely put him on the map as one of the most accomplished black directors in Hollywood!

“Straight Outta Compton” Is Inaccurate According To Jerry Heller; He’s Coming For Dr. Dre’s Pockets

Months after Straight Outta Compton, the most anticipated film of the summer has released and ranked in $200 million, Jerry Heller, former manager of NWA, has decided that there were too many inaccuracies depicted; he’s filed a lawsuit with the request of $35 million in compensatory damages and $75 million in punitive damages. Details after the jump.

Producers Of Tupac Biopic Sue The Other Producers

Man, things aren’t looking good for this Tupac biopic! According to The Hollywood Reporter, one production company associated with the film has filed suit against another production company that’s working on it as well – to the tune of $10 million. Emmett Furla Oasis says Morgan Creek Productions exceeded their agreed-upon $30 million production budget, as well as casted the lead (which I assume is the actor playing Pac) without approval from the rest of the production staff, and they want them to pay up! They say the issues really began after the success of Straight Outta Compton this summer. Emmett Furla Oasis alleges in the suit that shortly after the movie came out, Morgan Creek randomly asked them to prove they could pay their half of the budget, which they projected would exceed $34 million – and naturally, Emmett/Furla refused because that was violating the initial $30 million agreement.

He previous dished that there would be three more films to come but there was no word on plot and directors. Monday, Vin Diesel confirmed via Facebook that the award winning ‘Straight Outta Compton’ director F.Gary Gray would indeed lead the film. Hit the jump for more.
