With the holiday season around the corner and with Google, Amazon, and Microsoft all releasing new tablets is Apple under new pressure from other companies. Probably, ever since Apple created their iPad tablet 2 years ago and every company under the sun has tried their hand on a Tablet like device some successful some not so much. Apple’s main competitors have been successful in gaining market share because their Tablets have been niche and not following in the footsteps of the iPad. Tech Talk Microsoft: Analysts Beleive Surface Tablet is Too High
Even though the Surface tablet has sold out though preorders, Analysts believe that Microsoft shot themselves in the foot with the price points Microsoft has selected. Charging so much for tablet could turn consumers away and have them purchasing cheaper tablets like the Kindle fire, the iPad Mini and Google Nexus. Microsoft stated they were charging that much to compete with the iPad, but this is market the iPad has dominated for 2 years. There was no actual video showing what the Microsoft Surface Tablet can do. Yesterday Microsoft released a video showing of all the features. The video hightlights the devices HD video port, USB 2.0 port and microSD which you gotta say is a step up from what other tablets are offering. Tech Talk Microsoft: Preorders Of Surface Tablet Are Sold Out !!!!
Maybe I spoke too soon about the Surface tablet. Yesterday when the price points leaked before the preorders started, I said no way these things will move off the shelves. 24 hours later the Surface tablets are all sold out. Looks like people took some risks on this tablet. There are no videos showing what the tablet can and cant do. So purchasing this device is a bit of a gamble. Tech Talk News: Is The Pricing For Microsoft’s Surface Tablet Too High?
The pricing for Microsofts Surface leaked and man what are those people over at Microsoft thinking. With a starting price point of $499 (and thats without the keyboard) for the 32 gig model. That price alone competes with the 3rd generation iPad but who wants a product that hasn’t proven anything yet. There are other options such as the Kindle, an array of Android tablets, and even the iPad mini. This starting price is beyond crazy. Good luck to Microsoft trying to sell this thing.
