Midwest Tornadoes Leave 5 Dead, 29 Injured

At least 121 tornadoes touched down in the Midwest yesterday leaving at least five people dead and 29 people injured. The National Weather service has reported that 97 tornadoes touched down in Kansas alone and more can touch down at any point today. Although the bull-eye of the storm is over Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Iowa residents from Wisconsin to Texas have to be on alert. Read more below. Julie1205


BREAKING NEWS: Dozens of Tornadoes Reported in Midwest States

According to Fox News, “The National Weather Service says more than three dozen tornadoes have been reported Saturday. As of 8:00pm ET there were 48 tornado sightings across four states, with the first wave clustered in southwest Kansas.” Weather forecasters predicted the surge of dangerous weather and we hope everyone has taken shelter. Midwest To Experience Life-Threatening Storms This Weekend

The Midwestern states are said to be facing “life-threatening” storms this weekend. Tornado sirens sounded this morning in Oklahoma and the weather is supposed to take a turn for the worst this afternoon. At least three tornado have already touched down near Oklahoma City so far small amounts of damages have been reported. The storms are said to hit areas Minnesota to Texas especially overnight. Shelter Dogs Training To Become Rescue Dogs

The National Disaster Search Dog Foundation has decided to start using dogs in shelters as part of their rescue teams. After natural disasters such as the Haiti and Japan earthquakes, tornadoes in Missouri, and attacks such as 9/11 the NDSDF feels that more dogs can help save more lives. Once the dogs living in shelters are trained they will be “on-call” so to speak in case disaster strikes. Read more after the jump. @Julie1205
