Tech Rumors: HP using TouchPad To Test Windows 8

Get your salt shakers ready, folks, because it’s rumor time. Clayton Morris is back with another report from deep inside the bowels of HP, this time claiming that HP is using their supply of ARM-powered HP TouchPad tablets to test the developer preview ofWindows 8. Apparently there are internal talks “about reviving the defunct tablets or building new devices with Windows 8 in mind”. @TatWZA @Yungjohnnybravo


Tech Talk News: HP Touchpads Shipped With Android OS????

You might recall several weeks back when at least one HP TouchPad was shipped to a customer running a Qualcomm-derived build of Android instead of the expected webOS 3.0. HP’s remained mum on the matter, and we’ve been more than a little confused by it. Responding to a request for the Android source code to be released (a reasonable request, given the open source nature of Android (at its core)), HP admitted that they don’t know how that happened, and are looking into it: @YungJohnnybravo @TatWZA


Tech Talk News: The Blackberry Playbook Is DEAD, Expect Fire Sale Soon!!!

As reported on BGR, RIM has stopped the production of the Blackberry Playbook, the tablet that may have been doomed from the beginning!! As you know RIM hasn’t even been moving their Blackberry’s as wanted but the playbook has pretty much just been sitting in stores, mostly due to the price, but also because people didn’t like the connectivity of it, actually needing a Blackberry for certain functions, if the Blackberry isn’t moving and you need that to work some of the tablet, why would you want the tablet??
