RIP: Music Industry Veteran Chris Lighty Passes Away
It’s a sad day in hip-hop. Veteran manager Chris Lighty, the man behind Violator Management that helped launch the careers of Busta Rhymes, Missy Elliott and so many others, has passed away. I saw a barrage of “RIP Chris Lighty” tweets on my timeline, but didn’t want to post anything until it was confirmed, as Twitter is unfortunately known to kill someone off just for fun. Sadly, Vibe has confirmed the news. RIP, Chris Lighty. You will be missed. We will have more details as they come in. Marisa Mendez
