A Nixon advisor has recently revealed that the war on drugs was really war on black people. A lot of us already knew that, so this is basically just a confirmation. Dan Baum wrote a book about drug prohibition. In the book, he spoke about the effect that politics had on it.
(Video) Survey Says: Majority of Americans Support Legalizing Marijuana
A new survey from the Pew Research Center shows that a majority of Americans would support legalizing marijuana. More than half of Americans have tried marijuana at one point or another, and generally speaking the War on Drugs is considered an expensive failure. In addition to that, Americans spend more per person on incarceration of small-time crimes such as possession than any other developed country. Top Honduras Security Official Resigns
A top security official in Honduras has resigned. The man, who was a major fighter in the war on drugs in the country, stated that the lack of finical support for his efforts is the reason for his stepping down. The resignation announcement came as a shock on Saturday especially since the official was emerging as a presidential candidate for the country’s 2013 election. Read more after the jump. @Julie1205
