Nintendo has announced that On June 28th, it will be shutting down some Wii channels. The channels getting the axe are Forecast, News, Everybody Votes, Check Mii Out, Digicam Print and Nintendo Channel. Also, the feature Wii Connect24 will no longer be available in the US and in Japan and will no longer work with Mario Kart Wii.
On February 4 Nintendo will be releasing its first accessory package for the Wii U. The announcement was made earlier this morning. This is the first accessory release for the Nintendo Wii U. The package includes a screen protector, a large DSI XL-style stylus, and a cleaning cloth all for the low price of $12.99.
Gizmodo is reporting that Nvidia, who typically manufactures parts for other products, has created their own next gen GameBoy, with a ton of extra perks. With the controller design of an Xbox 360, Nvidia’s “Project Shield” has a 5-inch 720p display with some touch capability. Not only a gaming device but also a set top box and computer as well. Capable of playing 4k movies to a full 4k TV via an HDMI capabile, while tweeting or browsing the web in the background. Nvidia graphics cards are top of the line which means you could expect some good results from their latest project.
Nintendo just recently launched the Wii U, which has an appearance of the future of gaming. With a controller similar to a tablet or smartphone, the capabilities and features seem endless. The newest feature addition will provide a second-screen viewing experience. By viewing entertainment through the Wii, social media integration is possible.
It’s been a whole week and the numbers are out on how many units Nintendo moved during it’s first week. I thought Nintendo would have moved more units, they moved almost the same number of units as the original Wii.
Ahead of it’s release date Nintendo’s President does an unboxing of the unboxing a Wii U Premium Pack for the first time. The release date for the console is November 18th. I guess the President wanted to give his own preview of console.
Nintendo announced yesterday they are dropping the price for the Wii. As Nintendo plans on going full speed with their Wii U, the idea of dropping the price is good for Nintendo since there people out there that still want a Wii. So before Nintendo completely drops the Wii to the abyss a price drop is definitely needed.
