We still haven’t forgot the story we heard a week ago about the undisputed queen of Pop, Madonna, having a bit of a tantrum because some of her fans decided to smoke during her soundcheck. Madonna mouthed off the fans who would eventually put their cigarettes away. But the Pop star had a right to feel unappreciated, according to Pollstar, the Material Girl was the runaway leader in concert grosses for calendar year 2012, taking in $296.1 million. Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band took the number two spot with $210.2 million. Does this make it ok for the queen to go OFF on her fans when she doesn’t get her way? Russ B
Rolling Stone: 50 BEST ALBUMS OF 2012!!
So Rolling Stone recently let us know who they felt were the front runners in the music industry this year with their “50 Best Albums Of The Year”.Surprisingly Rick Ross made the list for his mixtape ‘Rich Forever’ and NOT his album that dropped in July. Azealia Banks was placed in the top 30 for ‘1991’ and newest Hip Hop heavy weight Kendrick Lamar ended up being unsurprisingly high with (what is already being crowned as a classic) ‘Good Kid, M.A.A.D City’. A new study done on elementary and middle school students shows that younger children who get lower scores on standardized test compared to their older classmates are more likely to be prescribed stimulants for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (A.D.H.D). I still don’t understand how they decided to tape the awards a week in advance of it’s airing on TV. Everyone was tweeting, taking pictures, and taking videos of the night’s events last night and informing the public of everything going on, really removing the element of surprise.
