Kelly Williams-Bolar, an Ohio mother of two was sentenced to 10 days in jail last Tuesday and placed on three years probation after sending her kids to a school district in which they did not live. Williams-Bolar who lives in the projects, gave the school the address of her children’s father, whom lives in a better neighborhood. Should she be jailed for this? Check more info after the jump.
Kelly Williams-Bolar was sentenced by Judge Patricia Cosgrove and has begun serving her sentence immediately.
The jury deliberated for seven hours and the courtroom was packed as the sentence was handed down. She was convicted on two counts of tampering with court records after registering her two girls as living with Williams Bolar’s father when they actually lived with her. The family lived in the housing projects in Akron, Ohio, and the father’s address was in nearby Copley Township.
I think that’s is shocking if she want to send her children to a nice area for school then she should be allowd.
This headline is totally misleading. She did not get in trouble because her children are black and the school is for whites. She lied about where she lived. I’m sure there are black students in that school who have no problem, her kids just didn’t live in the district. I’m not saying that the punishment is the correct one, I think its too severe, but you can’t just make it seem racist like that.

if you can pay the school fee you should be allowed in any district of your liking.
plus, the father lives in that district. with the fathers consent it should be allowed.

until then; unfortunately, it is only right that she receives some kind of punishment for breaking it
10 days plus 3 yrs probabtion is harsh for an act that was meant in good will

Look at the two comments right above mine. She “should” be punished because it a law? So it doesn’t matter that its a stupid law? And then Americans are wondering why the economy is in the crapper, and their children are dumber than a sack of rocks. Wake up people! The kids in the ghetto are the ones who need good education.
