We’re definitely curious to see who takes home Hollywood’s biggest awards tonight but hopefully some interesting and/or shocking things happen! We’ve seen some pretty crazy stuff happen at previous Academy Awards shows…like Adrien Brodey making out with Halle Berry. Check out the top 10 most shocking Oscar moments after the jump!!

10. Crash Upsets Brokeback Mountain

The love story played out by Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal was the talk of the Industry leading into the 2006 awards. So it’s safe to say people were a little shocked when Paul Haggis’ Crash took home the night’s top award.

9. Marisa Tomei Wins for My Cousin Vinny

OK, so you’re 29 and have just been nominated for Best Supporting Actress for your role as a brash New Yorker with marriage on her mind. Pretty cool. But you might not get your hopes up when your competition includes veteran thesps like Judy Davis, Vanessa Redgrave and Miranda Richardson. In fact, you might be so thrown off by your win, that you stumble as you make your way to the stage.

8. Sandra Bullock Finally Gets Some Love

Sandy genuinely didn’t seem like she expected to win for her role in The Blind Side. Who could blame her really? Her competition in 2010 included Meryl Streep and Helen Mirren. But her work was finally recognized with the Industry’s highest prize. A pleasant shock for everyone watching.

7. Hilary Swank’s Hubby Snub?

We imagine it’s a pretty intense moment to win an Academy Award, but when Swank forgot to include her then-husband Chad Lowe in her Best Actress thank-you speech for Boys Don’t Cry, people couldn’t help but take notice. She made it up to him a few years later when she won again for her role in Million Dollar Baby.

6. Farrah Fawcett Left Out?

Sure she may have been more well-known for her TV work, but Fawcett still starred in a handful of movies, and many were shocked when they noticed she was not included in 2010’s In Memoriam tribute.

5. Shakespeare in Love Beats Saving Private Ryan
Let’s see, we’ve got legend Steven Spielberg helming a WWII drama with Oscar-winner Tom Hanks. Seems like a shoo-in for a Best Pic win, right? Not so fast. The Gwyneth Paltrow period piece was the little movie that could way back in 1998 as it took home the top award.

4. Adrien Brody Makes Out With Halle Berry

The swirl of emotions that accompanies an Oscar win can allow you to get away with some otherwise outrageous behavior. And smartly, Brody seized that moment to get to first base with the sexy actress when he won Best Actor for The Pianist.

3. Gary Busey Hijacks Jennifer Garner’s Red Carpet

You know how it goes, you’re having a nice chat with Ryan Seacrest and Laura Linney and then the Busey strikes. Garner was visibly caught off guard when Gary butted in to congratulate her with a hug and a kiss during their brief moment. She rocovered like a pro, but this still lives on as one of the funniest, most talked about Oscar moments.

2. Ben Affleck & Matt Damon Can Write!

Good Will Hunting was up against some tough competition in the writing category—As Good As It Gets, Boogie Nights—back in 1998. And when first-time scribes Affleck and Damon nabbed the award, it was the kind of shocker fit for launching some A-list careers.

1. Cher Rocks the Headdress

Forget Björk and her swan dress. Cher was the originator when it came to shocking red carpet wardrobes. Her 1986 Bob Mackie “dress,” featuring a feathered headdress, was rumored to have been a response to an Academy memo to nominees about the preferred dress code. Seems like that kinda backfired.
