It doesn’t take long to realize Glenn Timmermann is the world’s most devoted fan. Just look at his body. He doesn’t just get players’ autographs. He turns them into tattoos.
Check it out after the jump…

There are 126 so far, along with various Chicago Bears artwork. If there is no greater love than laying down your life for another person, then there is no greater fan than one who will lay down his skin for Jimbo Covert.

“The first time people see me they usually give me crap,” Timmermann said. “But once they start looking at it, it’s like, ‘Wow, you really are a diehard fan.’ ”

It all began six years ago when he went to an autograph session by Otis Wilson. He got a couple of items signed, but there wasn’t a big turnout so he had time to go home and get more.

Timmermann returned, got the stuff signed, and then had either a certifiably brilliant or insane idea. Anyone can get a football or helmet autographed.

“You want to sign me?” he asked Wilson.

“Yeah, right,” the former linebacker said.

Timmermann insisted, and an obsession was born. He has Brian Baschnagel on his right forearm. He has Israel Idonije on his chest. He has Kyle Orton on his right bicep.

He has gone from A (Alfonso Boone) to Z (Zackary Bowman). The most recent was Lance Briggs on his left elbow.
