Police arrested an upper West Side public school aide for sex abuse, the latest in a string of shocking school staff arrests. Hany Abdalla, a paraprofessional at Public School 84, touched an 8-year-old female student inappropriately in a single incident at the school earlier this month. He also forced the special education student to touch his groin, a source said.

Abdalla, 35, is charged with sex abuse and endangering the welfare of a child. He has worked at PS 84 since 2007 and is suspended without pay pending the outcome of his criminal investigation.

The accused pervert was removed from the classroom after officials were alerted of the situation, but parents want investigators to determine if Abdalla abused other kids.

Shekeithra Foster has been sick with rage and worry since she heard about Abdalla’s arrest.

The aide may have worked as a reading coach in her son’s second grade class, she said, because he worked in multiple classes in the school.

“My son could’ve been in a classroom with this lunatic. It makes you sick to your stomach to think about it,” said Foster.

Shakira Santiago said that she’s considering pulling her two kids from PS 84 because of the incident.

“I’m scared. It’s a very scary situation. The school needs to get to the bottom of this immediately,” said Santiago.

“I read stories of stuff like this in the news but I never thought it would reach home,” said Santiago, adding, “Now it has.”

Schools Chancellor Dennis Walcott stopped by the school Thursday morning to check in on the matter himself.
