To celebrate Black History Month, InFlexWeTrust will be honoring influential members of Black history daily throughout the month. Today, we are honoring Josephine Baker. Baker was a French actress, dancer, and singer. She became a French citizen in 1937 and became known as a political icon and international musician. Baker became known for her nicknames, “Bronze Venus”, the “Black Pearl”, and the “Créole Goddess”. She had countless contributions to the Civil Rights Movement as well as World War II when it came to fighting the French Resistance. Baker was the first African American female to star in a major motion picture, Zouzou in 1934. Read more about her below.
