The man behind the signing of Trinidad James is president no more. Well, at least not at Def Jam Records. Joie Manda has resigned today and let out a statement that fills us in a little bit on his plans. “I am truly grateful to Barry [Weiss], John [Janick] and Jimmy Iovine for this exciting new opportunity,” Manda said. That new opportunity being the new president of urban music for Interscope Records. While in this position, Manda will work with artists like Kendrick Lamar, French Montana and Eminem. Even the behind the artist guys have to make moves. CONGRATULATIONS, Joie! Drop down bottom for more of his statement.

“I’ve learned a lot from Barry in the last year and am very appreciative of everything he has done for me. I am now looking forward to being part of the Interscope [Records] family, a company uniquely positioned for success despite this challenging marketplace,” Manda says. Hope all goes well.
