Royce White’s anxiety problems have been well documented and publicized.  The young NBA player has made it an objective of his to spread mental health awareness as he battles with his professional career.  He and the Houston Rockets could never come to an agreement in terms of his care and after playing several games with their D-League affiliate the Rio Grande Vipers, the Rockets traded him to the Philadelphia 76ers.  As I stated before his issues are no secret so the Sixers knew what they were getting, the question is how will they handle it.  Read more after the jump.

Royce White is ready to play in the NBA, probably for the Philadelphia 76ers, once the trade from Houston becomes official.

But making 100 plane flights during a season?

“Hell no,” the former Iowa State basketball star said after playing for the Walnut Creek YMCA Wednesday night in the YMCA Capital City League at Valley Southwoods Freshman High School.

“One hundred flights would be like if you’re allergic to peanut butter – it’d be like spreading your whole body with it.”

He doesn’t know how the 76ers will deal with his well-publicized anxiety disorder, but his mental health awareness crusade will continue.

He wants to play basketball – but only if it’s within the confines of what his anxiety attacks will allow.

White says he has every intention on playing but as of right now no one is certain what steps the 76ers will take to accommodate his condition.
