FORD
Don’t expect to see it next time you go into the dealership but a Ford engineer has developed an easier way to adjust a manual transmission. The engineer, Zach Nelson, made a vibrating shifter knob from an Xbox controller and then stuffed it into a 3D printed knob along with an Arduino controller and an LED display! The knob is able to communicate with the vehicles onboard diagnostic system and will vibrate indicating to the driver when you need to shift gears. And if you are an experienced driver the knob will go as far as pinpointing exactly when to shift to get both the best fuel economy and most performance.
