Same-Sex Couple get engaged at Macklemore concert
Macklemore and Ryan Lewis were performing at a ‘Good Morning America’ concert in Central Park for nearly 5,000 people. In the crowd, a woman held up a sign that read, “Can I propose to my girlfriend on stage?” Hit the jump for more details on this special engagement for the couple.

Brandon F

Stand-up comedian, Tom Kelly, was on hand at the concert to entertain the crowd. He noticed the proposal sign that was printed on rainbow-colored poster board. He figured he can make this happen, so he pulled up the couple, Val Dallas and Kara Toomey, on stage. Kelly said, “I pulled Val and Kara up to the stage. In front of over 5,000 Macklemore fans, Val pulled the trigger.”

Josh Elliot, a GMA anchor, invited the newly engaged couple to watch the rest of Macklemore’s concert from the stage.

Congrats to the newlyweds! This was probably really special for the couple being Macklemore fans, and watching him perform his hit song, “Same Love,” which stands for marriage equality.
