This Sunday unfortunately seems to be filled with tragic car crashes. Authorities reported that after a SUV crossed into on coming traffic, it resulted in a head on collision with another vehicle causing for the deaths of 6 passengers, Hit the jump for more detail!

36, year old Kathy Douglas, the driver of the SUV had crossed onto traffic in her Jeep Liberty at around 4:30 p.m. this afternoon, causing a huge head-on collision with a Pontiac Bonneville. The vehicle collision took place on the northwestern Pennsylvania Highway in a rural area of the Allegheny National Forest.

“The four occupants of the sedan, all residents of nearby St. Marys, died in the crash: the driver, Gary Beimel, 62, and passengers David Cuneo, 54, Elaine Beimel, 55, and Florence Donachy, 81”

“A 6-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl in Douglas’ vehicle also were killed. Douglas and a 10-year-old boy in her car were seriously injured. The children were not identified by police”

Both drivers Douglas and Gary Beimel had been wearing their seat belts, yet police officials stated at least 3 of the deceased had not.

Although it is unknown what officially caused the car crash, the investigating officer Trooper Roger McCloskey, stated he believes the driver Douglas was at fault and will face possible charges.

“I have no idea yet, but the investigation is continuing,” he said Sunday.
