If you’re in the Tech Music spec, you’ve known about this for quite some time! The project name was ‘Daisy’, which was always confusing to me, but now they are ready to let the Beats brand take it to the next level!
I first started hearing about this in feb of this year when restarted putting our App together(#DjFunkFlexApp), as it was already in the making. Now what some don’t know is they bought out the Mog, app to goer their 12M song base, but they seemingly mos def have improvements by added new and current music, giving you good discovery.
“Right now, these things are all utilities. It’s give me your credit card, here’s 12 million songs, good luck,” said Jimmy Iovine in January. “We have an entire generation that was brought up on sound being inferior, and sound is the only conduit for emotion that we have. We’ve had ten very bad years in the audio industry. So we want the best possible quality, and it will have global scale. So it will be a balance of those things.”
Jimmy and Dre recently grabbed buckets of money of investments, upwards of $600M, which will give “Beats Music” App plenty of room to grow! One thing I heard in all of the ‘project daisy’ talk was this will be a premium service, so you will have to pay monthly to get what you want, much like how Mog is already, but we don’t know their new price point, Mog’s is $9.99 a month. I am excited to see what they have in store for this Jan(2014) when it’s rumored for the app to drop in App Stores!!
