Caran Johnson, a mother who took to social media and made a hobby out of listening to scanners and reporting on accidents, was doing just that when the story took a dark turn and hit home. Hit the jump for more.

Caran Johnson a Washington resident, who also goes by the name of @ScanCouver became distraught after covering a crash in her area, and the only casualty within it was her life partner.

Johnson took to her twitter and reported on her daily traffic report within her area. Yet Johnson’s tweets became very nervous after she discovered that her husband left work early and the accident site had been on his home route, a Vancouver highway.

“Johnson’s husband was killed in the head-on collision with another vehicle. Police who have worked with Johnson in the past acted fast to give her information about the death, according to The Columbian.” HP

A distraught Johnson sent out one simple tweet after finding out the horrific news, ” It’s him. He died.”
