Well, this might be the last of the blackberry user’s, the US Government, But it’s almost over for the once king and 1st of the smartphones! The White house is Finally giving up the keys for that good touch interface!
Now the question is which touchscreen will they go with, as they will need to pick a device the whole government will be good with using. See the reason they held out is because Blackberry, although useless to most people, has the most secure network. Rumor is they are testing out the top tier Androids, like Samsung and LG. I feel like they would be good with the easy usability of Apple, but those Androids do leave room for the Gov techs to make their network more secure, where Apple completely controls it’s environment, which would Not let gov tech’s get involved.
Blackberry Had this to say about it:
“the U.S. government continues to choose BlackBerry for its unmatched security and cost effectiveness. Other vendors such as Samsung and LG still have a long way to go to catch up to meet the government’s stringent requirements and certifications”
Although a US rep says Obama is not apart of any pilot program to test other devices, we all know the final decision will rest with him, and we will keep our eye on this to see what choice is Big O’s final decision! Obama does currently use an iPad himself, and has signed several(which was historical in it’s self), so we really don’t know how this will turn out!
You should check your facts. There are plenty of BlackBerry users. Yes there is less then a few years ago but there are still many. Also Obama uses a Blackberry himself. And fought to keep it.
BlackBerry has touch screen phones as well as full keyboard.
correct, but it’s a little more than ‘not as many’, and the point of this post was that he won’t have for long, AND those ‘touchscreen blackberries’ have Millions of units just sitting in the warehouse because NOBODY bought them, that’s when they went up for sale….which facts should I check exactly??
You know Obama is more interested about looking cool then the security of the government.
