With domestic violence looming over the head of Ray Rice, I would suggest The Dream keep a real low key profile. The singer/song-writer appeared in court Monday, September 8th – with now wife, Lalonne Martinez – to confront the charges of assault on pregnant ex-girlfriend, Lydia Nam.

“Absolutely not today,” said the “Umbrella” co-writer to reporters as he entered a Manhattan courthouse. Nam accused her ex of assaulting her while she was eight months pregnant with The Dream’s fifth child and even released photos of her injuries. Although the incident took place April 12, 2012, she didn’t open up until November. In May, The Dream was charged with the assault and yesterday [Sept. 8], he showed up to court to see if there was an indictment filed – there was not.

“My understanding is the DA’s office is continuing to investigate,” said Dream’s attorney Andrea Zellan. The case was adjourned until December 15.
