Five years after passing away “The King of Pop” Michael Jackson, is the top earning deceased celebrity. Forbes says that Michael Jackson ranked in an estimated $140 million in the past year for his estate putting him at the top of their list of highest-earning dead celebrities. Michael Jackson earned twice as much as Elvis Presley who came in second at $55 million, and he made three times more than Charles Schulz, the creator of the Peanuts comic strip who took third place with $40 million. In the past year Jackson’s album, “Xscape”, which was released after his death, debuted at No. 2 on the pop charts. Forbes states, “Few celebrities prove the point that there is (financial) life after death better than Michael Jackson.” The other 13 deceased celebrities on the Forbes list earned a total of $363.5 million.
