A man like Charles Manson really shouldn’t be granted to privilege of marriage, however the 80-year-old prisoner has been granted a marriage certificate to marry 26-year-old, Afton Elaine Burton.

Surely by now, we all know the story – Charles Manson (and his loyal followers) were convicted of murdering six individuals, including actress, Sharon Tate. Since the 1969 incident and his arrest, Manson has maintained a group of people who believes in his innocence, one of those individuals being, Afton Elaine Burton.

Burton has continuously visited Manson in the Corcoran, California prison he’s housed in, for the past nine years. November 7, Kings County in California has granted the two a marriage license, which states that they have 90 days to wed or it becomes void. Burton mentions to the Associated Press that they will be husband and wife in 30.

“Y’all can know that it’s true. It’s going to happen,” she says about the upcoming nuptials. “I love him. I’m with him,” she adds.

The two would have been married, but Manson had some skepticisms and back in February, Manson was charged with violations – Possession of a weapon, threatening staff and refusal to provide a urine sample. All that’s water under the bridge. Burton says that although she loves him, she wants to marry him due to the information that she can get her hands on in order to free her husband-to-be.

“There’s certain things next of kin can do.”

I doubt if Manson is getting out any time soon, especially since he’s remained a criminal even in prison. Tsk Tsk.
