Former NFL receiver Laveranues Coles, who played for the Jets, Redskins & Bengals and was pretty decent at one point, is now playing a different type of game off the field. He has been going back and forth with his ex-fiance about getting the engagement ring back that costs more than the average American will make in 5-6 years. Now the game is being played out in the courts.

Coles was engaged to Kenda Fairchild and proposed by back in February with a 5.6 karat diamond ring valued at $240k!! Not too long after he found out she was interested in another guy and he called off the engagement and demanded the ring back. Kenda has continued to refuse for obvious reasons.
So Coles sued in Fairfax County Circuit Court in Virgina and on Friday morning, he won round one of his quest, overcoming a pre-trial request to dismiss the case by Fairchild’s lawyers. There is no real precedent in these types of cases because judges have ruled in favor of both the man and woman in past situations like this. That much money is something to take very serious so I am sure this will get dragged out for a while.
