Pop sensation Mariah Carey is being sued by her former personal assistant Ylser Oliver for work wages.
Mariah has been on the wrong side of the court lately, now shes being pursued for apparent lost wages from a former personal assistant. Ylser Oliver aged 49 claims the pop star had her work seven days a week on 16 hour shifts. Oliver continues that she was never paid for overtime and was not allowed to leave for a lunch hour. According to reports the total overtime peaks $4,000 (Sheesh). Oliver’s Lawyer released a statement saying “My client put her families life on hold while attending to Mariah Carey’s family, and Mariah repaid her by underpaying her”. There has been no exact amount that Oliver is suing over but one can imagine 4,000 hours of unpaid overtime probably doesn’t come cheap.Yes Mariah has the reputation of being a diva but that’s because she is isn’t she. Mariah recently was in the courts when a photographer had sued her because his images from a photo shoot of the Pop star were never used. TMZ reported that Management had said there was no contract set in stone hence there was no breach of contract. Despite all of the negative that’s going on with the Pop star Diva her fans must wonder when she will be in the studio again. “All I Want for Christmas” will have to due for now.
This is certainly similar to Lady Gaga personal assistant lawsuit, in which she settled out of court). It is very important to have a clear employment contract and follow the law.
