Kevin Durant has made it very clear that he wants Dion Waiters to “feel wanted” after being traded from the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Oklahoma City Thunder.  In order to help Waiters bond and become more comfortable, Durant had Dion Waiters’ locker moved.

Dion Waiters’ locker has been moved, per the request of Durant and Westbrook. They wanted him closer to them to help him get integrated.

Waiters’ locker previously was on the opposite side of the locker room, next to Reggie Jackson. (Lance Thomas’ old spot.)

Kevin Durant on the move:

“He’s a young player, third year in the league and he got traded.  Just wanted to make him feel as comfortable as possible as one of the leaders.  It definitely helps.  But he’s one of those guys, man, he fits right in.  To be honest, it really doesn’t matter because he’s around us all the time in the locker room, at the practice facility, on the bus, on the plane, he’s around everybody.  But I just wanted to make it easier on him as far as being a leader and letting him know what we need from him, it’d be easier to come back at halftime and do it there.  It’s more so just to make him comfortable.”

The addition of Waiters has furthered rumors that Reggie Jackson is on his way out.  Jackson has expressed a desire for a starting spot and will also command more money.
