One down; how many will follow? Known for their rugged boots and tree logo, Timberland cans the relationship between themselves and A.P.C. founder, Jean Touitou. Yesterday, news dropped that with the approval of Kanye West, A.P.C. founder Jean Touitou revealed his joint collection – with Timberland – Last N***as in Paris. Not everyone agreed on the controversial title to the collection, and that includes Timbaland. The company’s president, Stewart Whitney released a statement on the language of the n-word.

Touitou revealed the name of his collection with words on a sign during fashion week. Last N***as in Paris has got the attention of collaborator, Timbaland.

Stewart Whitney released the following statement:

Yesterday we became aware of the offensive remarks made by Jean Touitou during his A.P.C. Fall Menswear show in Paris. We have chosen to immediately terminate our involvement with the A.P.C. brand, including the footwear collaboration we had planned for this fall.

Simply stated, this kind of language and approach is in complete contrast with our values. Timberland seeks to collaborate with designers and brands who are at the forefront of lifestyle trends; equally important, they must also share our values. We will not tolerate offensive language or racial slurs of any kind being associated with the Timberland brand.

I mean really. The topic of racism, and black & white are at the peek of out generation. This was a bad move to begin with.
