Kanye, the "Steve Jobs" of the GAP?

If you thought ‘Yeezy Season’ had just begun or was going to peak at the release of his Adidas collaboration, get ready to re-charge your intrigue and hype (or face-palm if you’re a hater waiting for a fail). This ‘Chicagoan’ has no plans to quit on making an imprint on world like history’s greats and carry out the vision of all his concert rants…he’ll continue with the fashion world. The Takeover: Kanye Wants to Be “The Steve Jobs of The GAP” and go from once a sweater-folding employee to full creative director!!!

New York Fashion Week wrapped up with an epic show debut by the College Dropout who has in a sense “finally” been accepted as a designer–though he notes it’s the mentality of everything that went into his first album that continues to fuel his accomplishments (that’s real talk #motivation!). While the brand of choice may be surprising to some (makes sense when you look at his aesthetic) Kanye Wants to Be “The Steve Jobs of The GAP” and way more than just the producer of one product like the Yeezy 750 (did you see them in black?), one line or one even just one collection…

Kanye Wants to Be “The Steve Jobs of The GAP” and while the hype-beasts took a collective *gasp* on Twitter, some even going as far as looking into buying GAP stock now and waiting for The Takeover (now that’s what the f*ck I call a chain reaction!” SMH), the mid-west mogul is actually* able to make such a move, telling Style in an interview:

“Perhaps this is a bit of a demo tape. When I say Steve Jobs of the Gap, as I talk to the people at the Gap right now [leans into tape recorder], I’m not talking about a capsule. I’m talking about full Hedi Slimane creative control of the Gap is what I would like to do. And I can say this because it doesn’t conflict with my Adidas contract. [laughs]”

Uh huh, interesting… For those of you on the “he doesn’t make clothes for his own people” side of the Kanye Wants to Be “The Steve Jobs of The GAP” prospect–and while your point is valid and invalid at the same time (that’s a whole other article tho!)–Ye admitted in the interview that his first Adidas line “is not as cheap as he would like it to be” and remarks he didn’t have to skill set to do more inexpensive clothes at the time. However…sky’s the limit! And there’s no stopping him now: “I’ve got an army behind me, so unless the reviewer is recognizing the army, they’re not recognizing the tank coming. Like the Drake album says, if you’re reading this, it’s already too late. If you’re seeing this, it’s already too late.” BOOM.

Steve Jobs–a champion of passion and persistence once said, “the ones who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.” Check the gallery up top, vid and sources below for more on his current status and influences!
