Juicy J Retiring, for CEO Status?

At 40 years of age this successful Oscar winning, Grammy nominated Hip Hop artist and producer is seriously considering life after the mic. If Jordan Michael Houston aka Juicy J Might Retire and Trade Music for the Board Room soon, would the game’s newest CEO enter corporate life by exiting the latest peak of his music career?

The Juice-man is no “one trick pony.” He’s spearheaded his own career that’s spanned from Memphis, Tennessee roots and the legacy of Three 6 Mafia, to various projects, being part-owner and A&R rep for Wiz Khalifa’s Taylor Gang Records, mainstream smashes including the huge alley-oop on Katy Perry’s “Dark Horse” up to the present–racking continued credits for production, rap features, cameos and live performances. Now Juicy J Might Retire and Trade Music for the Board Room, noting it’s a real possibility following the release of what might be his last album, (THC) The Hustle Continues. Taking to Twitter earlier this week he highlighted:

“I been having thoughts about retiring from rap & becoming a CEO at a major label to help others in the music business.”

If Juicy J Might Retire and Trade Music for the Board Room he’ll be ‘riding into the sunset’ after his upcoming album and the recent release of the “Blue Dream & Lean 2” mixtape. He’s also been busy providing assists to Ne-Yo’s “She Know’s” remix as well as the smash “I Don’t Mind” with Usher and Troy Ave–not to mention headlining the Rolling Loud festival with ScHoolboy Q, Action Bronson, Curren$y, and A$AP Ferg and also lending production to A$AP Rocky’s upcoming album.

If Juicy J does retire for a fresh professional career, he’s definitely got the wisdom, experience and passion to make an impact on the industry. He could also take his expertise to other industries, much like Snoop’s recent ventures in the legal marijuana market, or even deeper like Houston native Chamillionaire who’s bodied the tech and financial industry to quietly command one of the most successful crossovers of a Hip Hop persona in recent years.

Once upon a time an MC retiring was a ridiculous concept, did Jay-Z (or MC Lyte,* or Queen Latifah*???) lay the 21st century groundwork for how it’s done? What do you think about “retirement” from Hip Hop? Check the vid and the gallery up top for his original tweets!
