USP NFL: SUPER BOWL XLIX-SEATTLE SEAHAWKS PRESS CO S FBN USA AZ

The media might’ve been annoyed with Marshawn Lynch’s antics but his catchphrase caught on like wildfire and now he’s going to bank on it.  During Super Bowl XLIX’s required press conference, everyone knew Lynch did not want to speak to the media but he had to so he simply said “I’m just here so I won’t get fined” repeatedly and suddenly everyone was saying it.

According to the Seattle Times, Lynch applies to trademark the famous phrase. This isn’t the first time Lynch has filed trademarks for his snarky remarks. Around the same time last year, Lynch trademarked the phrase, “I’m just about that action, boss”. After trademarking the phrase, Lynch would then go on to wear shirts, beanies, and hooded sweatshirts with the phrase on it.

Chris Bevans, who runs Lynch’s “Beast Mode” campaign talked about the slogan and how the company is looking into the prospects of making this trademark a real thing.

“We heard from our fans and so many of them were saying that they wanted that phrase on the clothing,” Chris Bevans, who runs Lynch’s “Beast Mode” apparel line, told ESPN.com. “This is just listening to the marketplace.”

This probably just pisses the media off more but who cares.
