Robin Thicke, Pharrell, and T.I. have all been embroiled in legal battle as a result of hit single “Blurred Lines”, which reportedly raked in a cool $16M to date.

Hip DX reports…..

“According to Business Insider, Pharrell Williams and Robin Thicke earned more than $5 million each off the song, while T.I. has earned over $700,000.

The remainder of the profits –roughly $5.9 million – has been split between Interscope Records, Universal Music Group and Star Trak Entertainment.

Gaye’s children Nona, Frankie and Marvin III allege that “Blurred Lines” and Gaye’s “Got to Give It Up” are so similar that the family is owed a large percentage of the track’s earnings.

Hearings have been taking place since February in a federal courtroom in downtown Los Angeles.

If the court rules in favor of the Gaye family, they would be entitled to both “mechanical royalties” and to “performance rights” from the song.”
