Temidayo Joseph, a 16 year old from South Ockendon, England, has accidentally killed himself while he was trying to imitate the death of actor Robin Williams’ by hanging himself. The British schoolboy hung himself by mistake when he tried to figure out how the Hollywood star had died. Temidayo Joseph was found dead hanging at his home in South Ockendon by his mother Kate Ibok. The young boy was a very talented soccer player and he was quickly rushed to a nearby hospital but he was declared dead soon after arriving.
A close source to him said that before his death he had been speaking with his cousin in Nigeria about the suicide of Robin Williams just days before. Williams died at age 63 at his home in Tiburon, Calif. of a suicide, caused by asphyxia and hanging, by Marin County officials. Reports say that the circumstances in both deaths were similar. Essex Police Det. Sgt. Tara Barnes told the hearing at Chelmsford Coroner’s Court, “Temidayo had said, ‘I don’t understand why somebody like Robin Williams would do this to themselves…Later on reflection, it occurred to me he was thinking how did he do it, not why.”
Eleanor McGann, the Coroner, ruled out speculation that Temidayo Joseph had committed suicide hours after thinking he would receive a poor test grade. She said, “The grades he got were perfectly ok to do what he wanted to do.” She also said that there was no evidence of a suicide note, so it looked as if he did not intend to take his own life. McGann recorded his death as accidental. She goes on to say, “I do wonder if as a lovely bright boy, he was experimenting and accidentally killed himself…He was an inquisitive boy with an enquiring mind. I find this was an accident.”
