Princeton Tries to Ban Big Sean

It’s been a “when it rains it pours” week for the Detroit “Dark Sky” rapper. Now a handful of Princeton Students Try to Ban Big Sean Performance Over Lyrics they feel is entirely inappropriate to promote. But hearing where they’re coming from…is this #valid or the #reach???

As these Princeton Students Try to Ban Big Sean Performance Over Lyrics the words #TeamTooMuch may come to mind. While this week his 99 Problems include* his girl Ariana, he might also have a cancellation on his hands. While the students petitioning have a point on trying to balance out the negative influences frequent on college campuses, many feel Sean’s a hapless target and the wrong way to go about it.

Vlad TV reports the school’s bi-annual “Lawnparties” event is the show in question (which previously hosted T-Pain) and the Princeton Students Try to Ban Big Sean Performance Over Lyrics are sounding the alarms on misogyny and homophobia on this blast:

“After I saw that video, I started researching Big Sean’s language and I found language that was both misogynistic and homophobic,” claims Duncan Hosie, referring to the promotional video for the event which plays the explicit version of Sean’s “IDFWU.” Appalled, Hosie and schoolmate Rebecca Basaldua put a petition together over the weekend citing that the “Dark Sky Paradise” rapper “promotes rape culture and misogyny in his lyrics” and should not be allowed to perform at the school.

“I’m sure every singer has a questionable song, but there are a significant amount of his songs that deal with this and I think there are a lot of other artists in the same genre even that would have been a better choice,” said Rebecca.

Along these lines will the Princeton Students Try to Ban Big Sean Performance Over Lyrics have a hard time booking an act? Are they being #petty for coming at Big Sean who many feel is on the lightweight side of lyrics or do they have a point about his sexual references? It’s definitely valiant to try to do something about frequent rape and sex scandals at universities, is the fuss over “IDFWU” on point or are we just desensitized to lyrics like it?

While this is going on, who’s waving the racism flag??? Check the gallery up top to see one of the signs the protestors put up on campus–ending with “…Down With Big Sean” (SMH).
