Veteran lyricist Killer Mike has been in the news for all the right reasons. He’s penned several stories about his stance of race relations and police brutality. After making appearances on several news shows, the other half of Run The Jewels has officially been recognized by the White House with a special invite to one of the most prestigious events in Washington, D.C. Killer Mike has been invited to attend the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. With The Obamas in attendance and SNL’s Cecily Strong as the host, Mike will serve as a correspondent for The Huffington Post. The annual dinner is held to raise money for WHCA scholarships and honor the professional recipients of the WHCA’s Journalism Awards. The Atlanta rapper has written stories and op-ed’s about race for USA Today and Billboard.

He’s also made several appearances on CNN and has even told his fans about his feelings on race while on stage. Recently, Run The Jewels dropped their latest visual for “Close Your Eyes (And Count to Fuck)” which had a heavy gocus on police brutality. Mike will continue to speak on race relations the following day at MIT.
