After having to deal with one of the worst predicaments in her life, she now has to deal with another one. 12- year old Rose McGrath was diagnosed with leukemia since August. With more than two years of battling cancer, she now has to deal with her school kicking her out. Click the link below to read why she was kicked out of school.

Rose was just another person who has been unfortunate. She didn’t ask for anything that has happened to her within the past couple of years. All she would like to do is be able to put her past behind her and continue to live like everyone else.

“When I’m at home, I’m sick, I don’t feel well; no one else does that. But when I’m at school I’m like everyone else,” Rose said.

St. Joseph Middle School dismissed Rose because she did not meet the academic or attendance standards. She was only able to attend 32 full days of school this year.

The standards that the school made in order to “fit” with the circumstances were a little indequate for someone who is dealing with such a diagnosis, reports Rose’s father Tom McGrath.

The McGraths will make sure that this situation does not go unnoticed and filed a complaint with the Office For Civil Rights. The family is now waiting for the response and to see how it will be handled.

What are you opinions? Do you think this is unfair or do you think the school had the right to take action? Comment your thoughts below.
