What could have easily been the Western Conference Final, the first round match up between the Los Angeles Clippers and the San Antonio Spurs has, as many expected, been sent to Game 7. It is now do or die, win or go home for both squads. Click more to view the full story!

There is definitely a lot riding on this Game 7 win for both squads. For the Spurs, the great Tim Duncan who has 5 championships and is 2 time finals MVP, could very well hang up his jersey for good. The last time we see the 39 year old play? I guess that same outcome could be said even if the Spurs do take the series and ultimately get to the Western Conference Finals. Duncan, who is still a dominant force in the league–with out a doubt–at age 39 has averaged 13.9 points and 9.1 rebounds this past season. Definitely great numbers for Timmy as he is on the chase for number 6.

With possible losses of DUncan and Ginobli, the Spurs still have a promising future if this series is lost. Potential prospect, LaMarcus Aldridge, is rumored to sign with the Spurs if Kevin Love decides not to exit Cleveland. Deadly! As the model franchise in the league, the Spurs would like to capitalize on this opportunity to add another Championship to their collection.

On the other hand, the Clippers may have slightly more pressure added to them. The number one thing on everyone’s mind has to be Chris Paul. CP3 is getting a reputation of not being able to finish. As the great point guard he is, his legacy is absolutely on the line here. Believe it or not, CP3 has never made it to a conference final. Hard to believe but its true! A loss to the Spurs would definitely put a dent in basketball legacy because, lets face it, a man in the NBA is defined by whether or not he can get a championship and if he can even make it to the dance.

Head coaches Doc Rivers and Greg Popovich will duel it out in this Game 7 and in my opinion, the Clippers are at home and they should have all the momentum on their side. Couple that home court advantage with the younger Clipper team, seems like a sure thing. Coach POP has been utilizing his “hack-a-jordan” plan and unfortunately for the Clippers, it has worked; so, it will definitely be interesting to see how this plays out. Can’t wait to watch this undercard fight before the main event in Mayweather-Pacquiao.
