The mayor of Baltimore Stephanie Rawlings-Blake lifted the citywide curfew that was put into action Monday. The riots took place after the funeral of Freddie Gray

The curfew began Tuesday evening and dozens of protesters were arrested for defying it. Reports states that a majority of the protests have been peaceful.

Upon lifting the curfew Mayor Rawlings-Blake tweeted, “Effective immediately, I have rescinded my order instituting a city-wide curfew. I want to thank the people of Baltimore for their patience.” She also added “My goal has always been to not have the curfew in place a single day longer than was necessary. I believe we have reached that point today.”

The six officers connected to Gray’s death were charged on Friday.
