So sad! Michael King who successfully launched numerous hit TV shows, such as Oprah and Dr. Phil has died at 66.

According to reports King traveled to France with his wife to visit his son, and while there he contracted a terrible infection. Upon returning home he was admitted to Cedars Sinai Medical Center in West Hollywood and was there for 20 days and was treated in the ICU for pneumonia.

King was placed on a ventilator however his health continued to decline. Yesterday afternoon, doctors removed him from life support and he died several hours later.

King was the CEO of King World Productions, which he inherited from his father. He is responsible for TV shows like Oprah, Dr. Phil, The Rachel Ray Show and many others. He also had rights to Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy!

King was 66 and is considered one of the most successful TV producers in the history of television.
