The very first Fantasy Football Convention, which was to be run by Dallas’s Tony Romo, was going to be held between July 10 and July 12th; however, the NFL has cancelled it. Apparently the league does not want players conducting NFL business while in a casino. Click more to read the full story.

The Fantasy Football Convention was to be a place where fans and players would have the opportunity to interact like never before. Beyond getting retweet or response on Twitter, players and fans would have the opportunity to be face to face and interact more personally. The NFL has decided to cancel the event due to its location.

Not only will fans lose out on opportunities at meeting NFL stars, but the players themselves have lost out as well. Aside from interacting with Fantasy Football players, the NFL stars that were set to attend the event were scheduled to make around $1 million each. SHEESH. I know some of the players have to be pissed off about missing out on that check.

To make matters worse though, the convention was to be held at Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas, a location that doesn’t even have “on-site gambling.” Smack in the face or nah? Tony Romo took to Twitter to address fans and players alike saying, “NFL has canceled our fantasy football convention this year in Vegas and that is disappointing. I’m sad for the fans and players.”

Different players have responded to the cancellation but Romo’s team mate, Dez Bryant, seemed particularly upset by and I’m sure he is not happy about missing out on such an easy check to collect. Check out the gallery to see his response.
