Looks like some one might not have a job any more! There has been another website glitch within a nationwide company, this time its Bloomingdales. Last week there was a glitch mistakenly issuing up to $25,000 in store credit to their “loyal” customers.

Customers that are a part of Bloomingdales loyalty program received an email from the store on Friday. Some of the customers email said that they received $5,000 in store credit. Which was suppose to read as 5,000 accrued “loyalist” points that would result in a $25 gift card. Others received emails for $10,000 in store credit and one lucky or unlucky man received a $25,000 gift card in store credit and took advantage!

The customer that received the $25,000 store credit email thought it might be a joke. He was expecting a gift card after recently buying a pair of Ferragamo shoes, but not in the amount that he received obviously.

The shopper said he made some online purchases using the free credit but worried that the free credit might be canceled. So he decided to go to a local Bloomingdales and try it out. He brought up to $17,000 worth of merchandise which included diamond earrings, a $5,000 watch, and a new Louis Vuitton bag which all cleared on the card.

But all the fun came to an end when Bloomingdales called the customer to tell him he “needs to” return the merchandise. But the customer has refused to give up the merchandise. It was all done legally right? Should he have to return it due to their glitch? Bloomingdales has offered the customer a $100 gift card if he surrenders the items.

“A small subset of Bloomingdale’s loyal participants were accidentally issued rewards gift cards with amounts that were clearly incorrect,” a spokeswoman for the Macy’s-owned department store said in an email to BuzzFeed News. “The company caught the mistake last week and is re-issuing replacement gift cards with correct amounts. The company is in contact with its customers and has apologized to those affected.”

The other customers that received an large amount in store credit did not use it or the credit was canceled before they could try it out.
