Folks want to be Black so bad; at least when it is beneficial to them. However, Twitter users and friends of Shaun King are allowing the supposed white man a pass in the name of the “Black Lives Matter” movement.

Admittedly, as I came across this story, I was like ‘what the hell … we got another one’. However, as you continue to read, you will see that it is about more than just Shaun King’s race.

The 35-year-old man is not only an active participant in the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement, but he is also ready to launch the Justice Coalition, a new organization looking to end police brutality in the United States by forming policy teams. In connection with the Justice Coalitions, King had also planned to launch a second website that tells true stories of how police brutality effects its victims. With that being said, there is someone out to stop King from taking those leaps in life. Insert the Breitbart News Network website.

Breitbart is described as a conservative news organization, one against a movement such as BLM. Breitbart outed King as being a white man who lied about being a Black man; in order to get an ‘Oprah Scholarship’ from Morehouse college, a scholarship specifically for men of color. King says, all of his life, he’s been Black or bi-racial.

“Every single person who knows me BEYOND Twitter, beyond trending topics and HIT PIECES, knows I have never lied about my race,” he writes on Twitter to address the allegations. “Out of LOVE for my family, I’ve never gone public with my racial story because it’s hurtful, scandalous, and it’s MY STORY.”

Apparently, King’s mother is white and his father is Black, however, according to Breitbart, his birth certificate lists both parents as being white.

Although Breitbart has done their part to bash the activist, the “investigation” is being dismissed with readers taking Shaun’s side. Shaun’s wife, Rai King has taken to Facebook to fill the world in on what we may not see on the surface.

“Just know this, there is nothing fake about Shaun King. He’s no Rachel Dolezal. What’s white about him is white, and what’s Black about him is Black and always has been from the time he was a child,” Rai wrote. “There’s no spray tan, no fake Black hairstyles, no attempt to make himself appear any more ethnic than he already does.”

Morehouse has issued a statement via their Twitter account:

#Morehouse has no comment on the @Shaunking allegations. However @Morehouse does not grant admissions or scholarships based on race.

Check out more of Shaun King’s statements in the gallery at the top.

I ask you this … if he is in fact white, what makes him and Dolezal different, aside from gender? Gives us your thoughts in the comments below.
