Looks like the younger generation keeps surprising the world day by day. Today it was a young African American female that decided to take her life in a different direction. To become the youngest African American female to obtain her pilot license!

Moriah Graham 17, has made her mark in history today by obtaining her pilot’s license while still in high school. Graham is a cadet with the Air Force (JROTC) who started training in the spring of her junior year in high school. After 14 months of training she has finally received the pilot license.

Graham, went to Poly Tech High school in Delaware. She states in the Dover post,

“Finding out I was the first in Delaware was pretty cool. It put a little bit of pressure on me. But I don’t fly to impress other people and I didn’t fly to make this historic accomplishment. I fly because I love flying and I have a passion for it.”

Graham will be attending Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida. The school that Patrice Clarke- the first black woman to fly a major commercial airline attended.

Congrats to Moriah and all of her success in the future. Continue to do what you love!
