According to several eyewitness accounts the Mexican kingpin El Chapo was spotted at the scene of a car crash that took place in Macuspana, Tabasco. El Chapo has been on the run from authorities since July when he escaped a Mexican prison for the second time. This is the second lead in the past few weeks authorities have received regarding the whereabouts of the kingpin. The first after his son tweeted a photo of himself at dinner with two men, presumably El Chapo and left the geotag feature on.

Following the accident El Chapo was transported to a nearby hospital and the Mexican police were tipped off by an eye witness. However, before authorities could arrive El Chapo had already escaped just “minutes before authorities arrived.”
The doctor was questioned about El Chapo’s medical treatment in attempts to gain a lead. But the hospital director reportedly refused to share the “patient’s” information and then denied that El Chapo was ever at the facility.
Since El Chapo’s escape in July the U.S. has offered a $5 million reward for information leading to his capture. Mexico has also put up 60 million pesos ($3.8 million) for information.
