Grace Jones, 67, is stirring the pot; what’s new? The fiery multi-talented lady of the 80s is prepping the release of her autobiography, I’ll Never Write My Memoirs, and well, she must bring on the noise so that it can sell, right?

In a excerpt of the memoir, released by TimeOut, Jones throws some minor shade at some of today’s popular-cultured greats like Rihanna, Beyoncé, Miley Cyrus and her favorite, Lady Gaga.

The model/actress/singer wants to make clear to the world that she is unable to follow any new trends, especially is those trends are coming from any of the above listed. Jones says that their trends are in fact imitations of her own.

“Trends come along and people say, ‘Follow that trend’. There’s a lot of that around at the moment: ‘Be like Sasha Fierce. Be like Miley Cyrus. Be like Rihanna. Be like Lady Gaga. Be like Rita Ora and Sia. Be like Madonna.’ I cannot be like them — except to the extent that they are already being like me.

In addition, Jones mentions that although she was the originator of many of the things these ladies has done, she still doesn’t reap the benefits that the do.

“I have been so copied by those people who have made fortunes that people assume I am that rich,” she continues. “But I did things for the excitement, the dare, the fact that it was new, not for the money, and too many times I was the first, not the beneficiary.”

As A Fan … I must say that I agree with her. Jones has been there and done all of the wild and crazy things and wore the equally wild and crazy things that all current pop stars do now, however, it was in the 80s. Everyone has their time to shine, and in the 80s and 90s, money flowed differently. Therefore, the benefits would be a little less. Grace, you are in the ‘write my memoir’ stage of your career; enjoy it.
