The plastic surgeon blamed for the death of Kanye West’s mother Donda West is now speaking out claiming he is not the one responsible for her death and is pointing the finger at Kanye’s cousin Stephan Scoggins. In an interview with Inside Edition, the once well renounced surgeon Dr. Jan Adams, revealed a letter he wrote at the time of West’s death after speaking to those who were with her. In the letter he wrote, “Her caregivers gave her, whoa, 20 Vicodin tabs in less than 20 hours.” Donda West died back in 2007 after complications from plastic surgery procedures.

Against Dr. Adams advice Donda West chose to recover from her surgery, which consisted of a tummy tuck, breast reduction and liposuction, at home instead of in a medical facility. She was left in the care of her nephew Stephan Scoggins, who is a registered nurse and who Dr. Adams claims was careless while taking care of his aunt.

According to Dr. Adams, Donda West was left under the supervision of laypersons. He said,”Her nurse wasn’t there, her nurse was gone to a baby shower, rather than taking care of his aunt.” The doctor claims West’s death was a result of cardiopulmonary failure and the amount of medication contributed to her choking on her own vomit, not from complications of the surgery.

He said, “This lady shouldn’t be dead,” adding, “All you had to do is sit her up and every nurse on the planet knows that.” In an attempt to clear his name, Adams just wishes Kanye would tell the truth about the situation. He said, “My point to Kanye is, tell what he knows,” he continued, “Point the finger at who the coroner pointed at. The truth when you bury it just grows bigger.”
