Our very own Funk Flex has landed a cameo in the second season of FOX’s wildly successful show, Empire. The legendary DJ/radio personality will pop up in episode 8, playing himself in a rap battle between Hakeem Lyon (Bryshere Gray) and newcomer Freda Gatz (played by female rapper Bre-Z, who will be introduced in the season premiere.)

“This is EPIC for me,” Empire director Sanaa Hamri wrote on Instagram. “#FUNKFLEX is in the building!! Directing @funkflex for @empirefox. He is BRINGING IT! For all you hiphop heads u know what it is!! This episode is gonna be [fire emojis] #empire #fox #secondseason #bestcastever.”
